Question about chubas

I suddenly found out that I need to wear a chuba tomorrow. The problem is that I've never put one on by myself, and I'm a little unclear on some of the details, like how to tie the sash. (I'll have help, but we'll be on a tight schedule, so I'd prefer to do as much as possible by myself, before everyone else arrives.) For the record, I'm female.

1. How do I tie it? I know I fold the two "wings" back from the sides, but then what do I do with the ties? Pass them around the front and then around back again, and tie them in back?

2. I've never been married. I assume that means I can't wear the apron under any circumstances (even if it does look better for a woman of my age and size to wear an apron). Is that right?

3. [Embarrassing question removed, since it's now irrelevant.]

Thanks for your advice!
